ART INFORMATION
ELECTRONIC FILES: ChesapeakeHome is completely digital to plate process. Digital (Flattened) ads are the only acceptable format. Acceptable files include tif and eps files. Pdf files will be converted to tif images upon submission. All ads should be a minimum of 300 dpi, CMYK formats. Eps files must have all fonts converted to outlines. All ads must include a hardcopy proof. For color matching, a digital proof (i.e. Iris, or similar) must be included with the file. Laser proofs will be acceptable as layout indicator only.

E-MAIL: Live electronic files sent via e-mail should be sent directly to your Account Executive. It is recommended files should be no greater than 2MB when compressed. Stuffit can be used on the Mac platform to create SIT files. A hard copy proof of the ad still needs to be sent to your Account Executive by the camera-ready art deadline.
FTP SITE: Transferring your live electronic files via FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is an excellent way to move larger files online without the problems of clogging up e-mail services and reducing the possibility of files becoming corrupted in transit. After you have uploaded your file to the FTP site, please inform your Account Executive of the file name. A hard copy proof of the ad still needs to be sent to your Account Executive by the camera-ready art deadline. PDF proofs will not be accepted.
Use the information listed below to log into the ChesapeakeHome Magazine FTP site using FTP software such as Fetch. Once you have logged in, you will be able to upload your electronic files to the client Art Submission Folder. To upload using your Internet Explorer Browser: type ftp://chesapeake:chmag357@ ftp.Chesapeakehome.com into the web browser or host. DO NOT type http:// before the ftp address! An error may pop up reading, “No Anonymous Access Allowed.” Simply click “OK” and go into the file menu in the left corner “Login As”

•The magazine trims to 8-1/8″ x 10-3/4″. Bleed ads must include 1/4″ bleed allowance beyond trim on all sides. Live area text must not be closer than 1/4″ from trim.
GUARANTEED POSITION: Special positions guaranteed at a 10% premium on a non-cancelable basis.
ART SUBMISSION:
•Acceptable formats include print-ready TIFF, EPS, and PDF. We do not accept film or any native application file formats (Quark, MS Word, PageMaker, etc.). PDF files will be converted to EPS or TIFF files upon submission.
•TIFF files should be 100% at 300 dpi minimum. All files and components should be CMYK. Illustrator EPS files should be CMYK at 100%, 300 dpi min. Fonts must be converted to outlines. Images must be embedded in the file.
•A digital color proof (Iris or similar) at 100% of size must accompany all submitted artwork. The publisher will not be held responsible for color running incorrectly if a digital color proof is not submitted by the advertiser. PDF proofs and laser proofs will be acceptable as a layout indicator only.
•Media Accepted: CDs, DVDs and digital files submitted via FTP. Submitted media will not be returned unless requested. To expedite the art submission process, please use our FTP site. Please notify your Account Executive with the file name and the date of upload. (Refer to our art information sheet.)
