Cupcake papersIt is no secret around here that I’m a big fan of weddings, princesses and cupcakes, which is why I gladly volunteered to bring the dainty desserts (and tiaras!) for our office royal wedding party.

For those of you who don’t know or haven’t seen the 24-hour coverage and specials, Prince William will wed Kate Middleton tomorrow morning at Westminster Abbey in London, England and yes, I’m one of the crazy people waking up early to watch their Big Day. The ceremony begins at 11 a.m. their time, which is 6 a.m. East Coast time. I wasn’t around for Princess Diana’s wedding, so this is the next best thing.

There is just something quintessentially perfect about cupcakes. They’re just the right size and not to mention oh-so-adorable. Plus, it’s physically impossible to be upset while eating cupcakes. I dare you.

While previewing the 35th Symphony Decorators’ Show House, sponsored by the Baltimore Symphony Associates at The Ritz-Carlton Residences, I came across a kitchen designed by Regina Bello, owner of The Monogram Shop in Baltimore. She had monogrammed cupcake holders sitting on the counter.

These, I thought, would be perfect for a royal wedding party. Or just a regular wedding, come to think of it. Unfortunately, they would not arrive in time for tomorrow’s party, but I’m sure they’d make a wonderful addition to any special occasion.
