What is stylish, self-defining and something you stare at every day to find the
nuances that escaped you the day before. The answer: wallpaper. Over the last 20 years, I think wallpaper has lost its appeal for its uniqueness during resale or perhaps the cost of its labor, but after looking at my bathroom and bedroom walls day after day for the last ten years, I am ready to consider the possibility that wallpaper is a way to give my home a fresh look.
The small bathroom spaces are a great starting place for entering into the world of wallpaper. It is a frequently occupied space that demands your attention while you
are in it. So why not, try a pattern that focuses you to feel something or to even think of things you can’t get beyond the bathroom door. It can also amplify the depth and character of the space.
There are many types of wallpaper designs on the market today that might peak your interest including my favorite: the hand-painted designs. From Animal prints to Art Deco to Geometric and Floral designs there are so many palettes to choose from. Take a look at some of the patterns offered at www.cole-and-son.com and www.wallpapercollective.com
Start with baby steps and perhaps you might even think about doing a bedroom accent wall to spice up one of the most cherished spaces in your home.
