Out and About

When on the hunt for gifts and home goods at the beach, sometimes we can be hard pressed to find items that don’t come off as overly souvenir or chotsky-ish. So what’s a girl – who wants to bring a memento home from the beach (or decorate a vacation home) – to do?

Mod Cottage RehobothLucky for me, on a recent trip to the shore, I found Mod Cottage. This little gem, which opened in 2008, is located right in the thick of things in downtown Rehoboth Beach. Nestled in the bottom right corner of the Hotel Rehoboth, a premier boutique hotel, Mod Cottage lives up to its name with offerings from Thomas Paul, Barefoot Contessa, and Michael Aram, and is the exclusive Rehoboth retail location for the Simon Pearce Collection and Gus Design Furniture.

A few of my favorites included Kobo Candles, Thomas Paul melamine plates, and an array of Hamptonesque bath accessories, including vibrant shower curtains.

Each well-selected item you’ll find, whether it be a great chair or cheeky tableware, will remind you of your time spent at the beach in a modern and sophisticated (yet relaxed and casual) way – exemplifying the very best of coastal living.
