Working Wonders Showroom in Mt. Washington

Today, I visited the showroom of Working Wonders, a Mt. Washington company that offers green products, information, and resources to industry experts and consumers. BethAnn Lederer, LEED AP, is the owner and inspiration to this new and dynamic resource for everything green in the home. Her comprehensive website gives you an idea of the time,

energy, and research she has put in to defining a “green guide” to assist you in navigating carefully selected products that help you make eco-friendly decisions about your home.

At WorkingWondersUS.com, architects, interior designers, builders, and consumers can find stylish and eco-friendly furnishings, finishes, and accessories that create toxin-free spaces. Some of the most notable items I found include a bamboo dining table and chairs by Maria Yee. Yee introduced BambooTimbre™, a

material specifically designed as an alternative to hardwood. BambooTimbre is made of 100 percent Moso bamboo. Moso can be planted and harvested in a five-year cycle and can regenerate from the original clump. The dining set was unbelievable. I wanted to buy it off the showroom floor.

Another elegant yet eco-friendly line distributed by Working Wonders is Plates With Purpose™ by Riverside Design.

Riverside Design donates 15% of its sales from Plates With Purpose™ to its local charities. Plates With Purpose™ is handcrafted in the USA from recycled glass, and is dishwasher and microwave safe.

Of course, I was also amazed by the number of different elegant biofuel fireplaces that are available. Planika’s

Bio-Fireplaces, manufactured of natural wooden or stone materials and ornamented with metal, glass and ceramic elements, constitute a decorative frame for live fire. Bio-fireplaces are an efficient and relatively cheap source of energy. While in traditional fireplaces 60% of the heat is lost up the chimney, in Bio-Fireplaces 100% of heat energy from burning bio-fuel remains in the room.

Lederer’s dream is to have consumers living in customized, comfortable green homes in her lifetime. “Our purpose is to really educate industry leaders and consumers on how to use green innovation easily and stylishly in the home.”

If you or your clients are interested in environmentally conscious buildings and furnishings, check out BethAnn’s website. It is a comprehensive look at some of the

  1. I have been committed to green ways for 30 years and it used to be so difficult to find information and products. Now more and more people want to use green products and the market is responding with a plethora of “green” products, often made in ways that are not sustainable – bamboo flooring made from bamboo planted where a forest used to be, for instance. I know Beth Ann Lederer and know the commitment and integrity she brings to green business. Her products can be counted on to be sustainable and fair trade and of the highest quality. So glad you have featured Working Wonders US here.
