We’ve all heard Benjamin Franklin’s timeless adage about the two things that are certain in this world. In response to Mr. Franklin’s claim about “death and taxes,” I’d like to add a third to my own personal list. In my world, there are three certainties: death, taxes, and great finds.

No matter the theme or season, the last page of each of our regular issues is always dedicated to “great finds.” That is, things that we have come across (or sometimes things we have searched for) that strike us for one reason or another and we just have got to share with our readers.
It’s a tall order, though. When you categorize something as “great,” you’d better deliver greatness. So, this is my inevitable third certainty…the one that

keeps me up one night every other month wondering: “How do our readers define great? Does this one meet the mark?” Luckily, the design world has allowed many talents to blossom within the home and garden industries, and our access to them and their creations is becoming easier by the day. One of those talents is Ayala Serfaty, whose designs were chosen for the great finds in our latest issue.
Serfaty is an internationally renowned designer whose furniture and lighting designs are featured in her “Aqua Creations” collection that was established in 1994. Those designs are eyecatching displays in residential and commercial locations around the world. Believing they were particularly apropos for our summer waterfront issue, we

named these the great finds for June/July, and because we couldn’t possibly include them all in the magazine, here are a few more of Serfaty’s “Aqua Creations.”
