A sizeable granite table—the showstopper for many passerby at the event—is grounded by the use of boulders and a sandstone fireplace, and accented with plant materials such as pines, cedars, spruces, evergreens, hellebores, ferns, and tete-a-tete.
The Maryland Home and Garden Show, held every March at the Maryland State Fairgrounds, provides annual inspiration to homeowners who have a passion for gardening and an appreciation of the outdoors. For the past seven years, ChesapeakeHome has been invited to judge and present an award to the landscaping company that creates a garden most representative of the kind featured in the magazine. This year’s recipient of the ChesapeakeHome award goes to European Landscapes & Design for their garden, complete with a stunning 11 by 4.5 foot granite table, sandstone accented fireplace, and “green” driveway. ChesapeakeHome honored the European Landscapes & Design display garden based on innovative design, quality of construction, and appropriateness of plant material.
